Alice Springs

Regional Centres Instrumental Program
The Instrumental Program is offered in NT Department of Education primary, middle and senior schools from years 4 to 12. The program runs at your child’s school. Students come out of their regular class once a week for 30 minutes to attend their lessons with an NT Music School teacher in groups of 2-6. Instruments offered in the primary school program include Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Saxophone and Percussion. Students accepted into the program will need to hire or purchase an instrument and prescribed text book before beginning lessons.  Further information will be provided at the commencement of the school year, on placement in the program.

Please check our website www.ntms.net.au to enrol. Students have the opportunity to be involved in performances at school, to join one of our after school ensembles and to access the N TMusic School events such as BEAT Festival, Play Days and community performances.

How to Apply
Visit the NT Music School website www.ntms.net.au  and complete the online application form. Availability of instruments and group size is determined by the number of applications. Not all students can be offered a place. Placements are offered in order of application – earliest first. Continuing students have priority. Some students may be placed on a waiting list. At the commencement of Term 1 our teachers meet with the students and distribute information packs. The packs contain information about your child’s application status, instrumental teacher, instrument hire and payment details. Weekly lessons are FREE for all students. Once enrolment is confirmed, an annual contribution of $100 will be requested.
