Instrumental Ensemble and Choral Tuition
Instrumental, Ensemble and Vocal/Choir Teaching Programs
School band and choir programs, delivered through small group instrumental tuition on brass, woodwind, guitar, voice and percussion instruments, are available to students in all government schools in Darwin and Palmerston, Katherine, Alice Springs, and Nhulunbuy. Tuition may be offered to students from year 4 upward, on flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, guitar and percussion. Voice is offered only in middle school to choir members, by audition. In years 10, 11 and 12, lessons are offered to students who are enrolled in music subjects or who are members of school bands and choirs. Contact us for more information.
NT Music School Instrumental Syllabus
Our students learn according to the NT Music School Syllabus. This syllabus has been developed, and is annually reviewed, by our entire teaching staff.
NT Music School Instrumental Syllabus
NT Music School Instrumental Syllabus provides a continuous learning sequence comprising five "levels" that guides students' development as collaborative ensemble musicians. All students are taught and assessed based on the NT Music School Syllabus for their chosen instrument.

* Please note, guitar lessons are subject to availability. Voice lessons are subject to choir membership and by audition.
Some things you should know about our instrumental program:
- Enrolment is online here.
- Weekly lessons are FREE for all students. A $100 contribution per year is requested, which supports our programs.
- All students participating in the program in Term 4 will be contacted to re-enrol for the following year.
- New students may enrol online now.
- Students will have the opportunity to see and hear the instruments on offer at our instrumental demonstrations in primary schools.
- If your child is accepted, they will be withdrawn from class for a weekly half hour lesson with a NT Music School teacher.
- Students accepted into the program will need to hire or purchase an instrument and prescribed text book before beginning lessons. Further information will be provided at the commencement of the school year, on placement in the program.
