Ensembles

The NT Music Schools Ensemble program aims to improve and expand the musicianship of our students through regular opportunities to play with other students and perform publicly. Playing and performing with others is the most important way for students can develop and apply their skills learned through lessons and practice.

NTMS co-ordinates a number of combined schools ensembles at a range of locations, all of whom represent NT schools at numerous public events throughout the year. Our Ensemble program is open to all students from year 5 to year 12, though different conditions apply for entry into each.

Students wanting to participate in NT Music School ensembles need to contact the relevant ensemble co-ordinator and fill in a Permission to Attend NTMS Ensembles form.  This form includes a media release clause, which allows the NT Music School to use photographs or video of student performance for publicity and/or marketing purposes.  Please be aware that not giving permission for this to occur will, in some cases, prevent students from participating in public performances.  Those families affected by this will be contacted by the relevant ensemble conductor prior to the specific event.
