About the Northern Territory Music School
The Northern Territory Music School is a unique NT Government School with more than 1200 students in years 4 to 12 enrolled in regular weekly music and performing arts curriculum programs, and many hundreds more involved in our annual calendar of combined schools performing arts events and activities throughout the Territory.
The school has a proud 46 year history of supporting music and performing arts education, enriching students' school experiences, and producing high quality graduates, some of whom go on to successful careers as performers and teachers, nationally and internationally. Our vision is 'Engage Improve Celebrate Together', which encapsulates our belief that a high quality arts education for all children has broad lifelong benefit.
The NT Music School operates across the Northern Territory from multiple campuses and offices, and leads programs in support of government schools at all stages of learning. Through the school's student-centred teaching and learning programs we strive for continuous improvement based on our students' needs and interests, mainstream teaching and learning research, specialist teaching and learning research, and the ACER National School Improvement Tool.
