NT Music School Instrumental Syllabus
Our students follow the NT Music School Syllabus, developed and annually reviewed by our entire teaching staff. This syllabus provides a continuous learning sequence comprising five levels, guiding students' development as collaborative ensemble musicians.
We provide syllabus for:
- Bass Guitar
- Brass
- Guitar
- Percussion (Mixed, Tuned, Untuned)
- Voice
- Woodwind

Step 1: Explore Your Options
Instrument Demonstrations: See and hear different instruments at our school demonstrations.
Step 2: Enrol
Online Enrolment: Enrol in our music program online.
Step 3: Start Your Lessons
- Weekly Lessons: Receive free, weekly half-hour lessons from our teachers.
- Annual Contribution: A $100 yearly payment helps support our program.
Step 4: Get Your Instrument
Instrument Hire or Purchase: You will need to hire or buy an instrument and textbook. You can make an instrument hire booking here. Instrument hire needs to be paid on booking.

Regional Centres Instrumental Program
Alice Springs, Katherine, and Nhulunbuy
Our Instrumental Program is offered in NT Department of Education primary, middle, and senior schools from years 4 to 12.
The program includes:
- Weekly 30-minute lessons with an NT Music School teacher.
- Instruments include Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone, Guitar, Saxophone, Bass Guitar and Percussion. (Please note not all instruments are available in each region)
- Students need to hire or purchase an instrument and prescribed textbook before beginning lessons.
- Performances at school, after-school ensembles, and NT Music School events like BEAT Festival and a variety of local events.

- Con Moto: Intermediate instrumental students, entry by audition
- Apogee: Advanced instrumental students, entry by audition
- String Theory: Classical guitar ensemble, entry by audition
- Singchronicity: Combined schools' choir, entry by audition
- Pure Note: Advanced choir for high-end choral students. entry by annual audition.
Nhulunbuy Ensembles
- Rock School - Contemporary ensemble conducted in school.
